Can I make a second New Style JSA claim?

Hi
I've found one or two other posts about this but they date back a while, so I wanted some up to date info. Sorry if it turns out this query is repetitive!
I've been unemployed since mid-April 2024, following redundancy. I was consistently working in the UK, without gaps, for 20 years prior to that.
In July I applied for new style JSA. (I was not, and still am not, eligible for Universal Credit for various reasons.) I received the benefit for 6 months and it ended in mid-January 2025.
I will be starting to do paid contract work soon, but not until around the beginning of June (it's now mid-March). I am also continuing my job search during that time. It would be helpful for me to receive some more financial help before June.
I have found some info saying that if it is 12 weeks since my last new style JSA ended, and if I make a new claim in a new calendar year (or is it a new tax year? Either way it could work based on timing), I can get new style JSA again. This could mean that I could potentially be approved if I apply again around mid-April.
Can anyone confirm that I may be able to make a second new style JSA claim and be approved in April, or point me to an official link/info on the subject?
Thanks!

Yes you can because its a new benefit year which means they will use different tax years, it will now be 22/23 and 23/24 tax years."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "1

That's great, thanks. Do you know if this is correct, that it needs to be a minimum of 12 weeks after my last round of the benefit ended?sammyjammy said:Yes you can because its a new benefit year which means they will use different tax years, it will now be 22/23 and 23/24 tax years.0
