Bidding glitch

I attempted to bid on two items this evening, but on both occasions eBay threw up a system error message. The item had not reached the reserve price but edged up selling for the bid that had failed to make that reserve, so I assumed the glitch was caused by the seller doing something. 

Having failed to win that item I had a back up plan to bid on a similar auction ending 5 minutes later. This time I bid within a minute of it ending instead of the last few seconds, but again my bid hit the glitch so both sellers sold for less than I was willing to pay. 

Anyone else seeing similar problems tonight?

 I haven't bid on anything recently but I have found eBay very slow over the last few days.

Every day I use a saved search for Blu Rays by specific opera composers and singers.

That search has worked seamlessly for me for years.

For the last few days I have found the results come up quickly as normal but eBay does not react, or reacts very slowly, to me clicking on a specific item in the list.

I hope that it is a temporary glitch.

Maybe that is related to your issue or maybe not.
