Tesco Credit Card Offer

On Martyn's Money not long ago was the Tesco Credit Card Transfer offer over 18months 0% for 0.99% fee. I have two Tesco Credit Cards have used 1 of them for over 25 years and the other for 10+ years. Tesco sent me an offer by email a couple of weeks ago of 0% transfer til end of Jan 2026 (approx 9 months). So I spoke with Tesco and they say that the offer, Martyn's Money is for new customers only. I politely complained but no progress made. Having spent 10s of thousands of pounds over the years and a regular Tesco Shopper for over 30 years spending thousands am very disappointed with the response. Any ideas 'Every little helps'.

Many card offers are for new customers only, you're not - 'simples', to borrow another slogan.

In case you aren't aware Barclaycard have taken over Tesco bank products so what you have spent in Tesco is irrelevant

Credit card offers are a 'loss leader' to attract customers. Often to be treated as a new customer you have to close your account, wait six months, and then reapply. 

Separately there are often less favourable offers for ongoing customers. That is what you have been offered and comes under your 'every little helps.' 

Many people here will do a credit card shuffle, where they open and close cards regularly to get the best deals. That is an option for you if you want to upgrade from current customer offers to new customer offers.

Check with Tesco how long you will have to wait before you become a 'new 'customer - close your cards down and go elsewhere - you show them you mean business. Loyalty - does not exist in business today - its everyone for themselves.

Before closing check you've not got a favourable legacy product or rate as you may not get that back.
