Where is best to stash my redundancy money?

I'm being made redundant and will have an £18k payout. I want to keep this as 'emergency fund', hopefully for many years as currently I know I will be able to cope OK without it. Where would be the best place to invest it? I hope to not touch it but need to be able to release it or part of it if I really need money.
I'm nearly 70 now and hopefully will get a small part-time admin job to keep me solvent

Go on to the "banking & savings" tab and look for what might be noted as the best savings account. That might be a good start. Maybe pop half into something that is locked up for a couple of years and the rest more accessible, just in case?
You could also consider a cash ISA for the tax savings.

I would put it in an ISA as they currently give the best interest and are tax free, unless you already have deposited money into an ISA this tax year. Tembo is currently the best at 4.8%.0
