Faulty Tumble dryer - ongoing saga
RighteousConsumer
Hi all,
Our Tumble dryer from Curry's is 4 months old. It recently stopped drying and takes 7 hours to heat up. We logged this with Currys on 16th Feb and they sent repair guy round on 20th. He ordered a replacement door incase it's that 🙄 the door wasn't in stock and he's ordered from Europe. It still hasn't arrived and been fitted, 30 days later. Curry's say they can't replace because the repair is still an open job. We are going round in circles and getting nowhere!
Any advice please?

Advise Currys they must repair as per:
https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2015/15/section/23(2)If the consumer requires the trader to repair or replace the goods, the trader must—(a)do so within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to the consumer, and
and the timeframe that has passed is unreasonable so if they are unable to replace you will reject.
Best to raise this higher up the chain, CS will stick to the script, try the contact on the CEO email website.
If this drags out make sure you make a clear statement that you are "exercising the final right to reject" within 6 months of delivery as after this time they can deduct for use and burden of proof shifts from them to you.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces3 -
Super helpful, thank you!0

lunatic how are they meant to repair if the part is not availale0

Respectfully, that's not the OP's problem. If they can't repair within a reasonable time period, then they should offer a replacement or give the OP their money back (which is effectively what @the_lunatic_is_in_my_head has said).tedted said:lunatic how are they meant to repair if the part is not availale
Know what you don't2 -
i know thats what was said but i was asking about the right of a repair of one chance what is the time limit on that?0

There's no specific time limit set, each situation would have to be looked at on a case by case basis.tedted said:i know thats what was said but i was asking about the right of a repair of one chance what is the time limit on that?

So the consumer can complain at any time that suits them0

And that's one reason think this act is abused a lot
