I am looking to transfer my Direct ISA to a new provider, does anyone know the bank sort code for NS&I Direct ISA?
Grateful for your assistance.

Don't understand the question. Why do you need this?
Whatever you do, DON'T CLOSE your existing ISA or you will lose the tax benefits. The new manager will do the transfer.".....where it is corrupt, purge it....."0 -
My new ISA provider has sent me a form which requires the Sort code and account number of my current ISA provider so they can request a transfer.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. I don't think NS&I have a sort code, since they are not a bank/BS. You should be OK to just use your account reference number. In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0

In reply to Jonbvn, NS&I do have Sort Codes as anyone lucky enough to win a Premium Bond prize knows. The PB prize warrant has one that starts with 10- which is a Bank of England code.
StevieJ - I suggest phoning NS&I to get the Sort Code for your product.".....where it is corrupt, purge it....."0 -

Very strange .... the norm is basically NINO / dob / ref + name address of existing provider. As here :-

Nothing out of the ordinary to be asked for sort code and account number. I remember Abbey asking for it when I attempted to transfer to them.0

That's exactly what I would have expected. Hope there isn't anything dodgy about this.
Who is your proposed new ISA provider StevieJ ?
I am looking at a four year fix with HBOS 6.5%.
I rang NS&I and they provided me with the following
Sort Code: 10-21-65
Account: 22578145
To this I add my personal account number.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. Even more curious. Are Halifax breaking the mould and asking for inward funds electronically? As they certainly move ISA funds out by cheque - which I understood was the norm agreed between the ISA managers as giving greatest control. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0

I was not totally incorrect, since the sort code is for NS&I ISA a/c at the BofE. I.e. NS&I are not a bank/BS and do not have their own sort code per se.In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0
