Shock horror! Good service from Abbey!

Hi everyone,
for once i've had a (half) decent experience with Abbey. I turned 18 at the beginning of november and have a current account with them with a visa electron card.
I called them on new years eve at 2pm and it turned out the call centre had closed at 1!! I knew it was new years eve but didn't stop me feeling annoyed.
Anyway! called them today as i wanted my electron card upgrading to a debit card as some online stores and the railway station won't accept electron.
I got through quickly, and even though i was told to call back next week (something about systems being updated on the first monday of the month) i felt that i recieved good customer service - a bit of a change!
Let's see if i get the same treatment this time next week!

Misseyre,
reading my post it doesn't sound like very good service, i know!
I suppose i was happy getting through quickly, to a call centre in the uk (usually speeds things up but abbey's indian call centres aren't TOO bad!)
I think it was because i could tell he was trying to help (and working in a call centre i know that the 'system problems' excuse is genuine most of the time).
At thecall centre where i work we are trained to take 'ownership' of a query. So if i was in his shoes i would have said, sorry i'm going to need to wait until the systems update next week, but i'll keep an eye on your account and when it's updated i'll get your new card requested. Oh well, i'm too easily pleased!!
If i call up next week and find out it's still not sorted i'll apply more pressure...it's nothing too serious though so that's why i suppose i wasn't too bothered.0
