Pension - Moving to Australia

I am really hoping for some help and guidance please.
I am 47 years old and moving to Adelaide in 6 months. I lived in Adelaide for 5 years moved back to the UK 5 years ago. I was born in the UK. I intend on moving back for good. I am concerned what I need to do regarding my state pension I am missing NI contributions for the years I lived in Adelaide previously. I have worked since I was 17 years old. I am aware when I leave the UK my rate of pension stays at that rate.
I am not sure if it is worth paying the NI years I do not have and when I am pension age do you receive that weekly amount? I have heard you are taxed twice.
Your advice is much appreciated as I am on my own. Thank you

You should be eligible to pay class 2 for the years in Australia if you were working and for the future years if working. When retired you won't be taxed twice, there are tax treaties between the two countries to prevent that. When do you intend to go back ? Post up some details from your forecast and someone will give a few pointersCurrent weekly £££.pp amount up to April 2024.
Number of full NI years 15-16 and earlier
Number of full NI years 16-17 and later
Tax year you reach state retirement
Any COPE amount. If you have "You've been in a contracted-out pension scheme" on your forecast then click

See if you can pay Class 2 NI for the years you were in Australia and apply to pay Class 2 when you return there. That should give you a full NI record so you can collect SP, however, it will not get any inflation increases. And so we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.0
