Anyone paid for WiFi access, to use WhatsApp, on a TUI flight and it didn’t work?

I asked the cabin crew and they said that it’s not working yet…yet it was advertised as working…and TUI know that? Isn’t that wrong? Immoral?

Presumably they'd refund you the access fee if you ask them, given that the service hasn't been provided.

Maybe…but they are misselling a service that it appears they know doesn’t work…that would be fraudulent if it were to be true

Perhaps the issue has been fixed now.

My guess, and that's all it is, is that they have wifi on some of their planes at the moment, perhaps with the intention of fitting it to all of them, and they had to change the plane for your flight from one with wifi to one without. I very much doubt if there's any "immoral" or "fraudulent" intent, and it's probably best not to bandy such terms about without any evidence.

Are you saying that you were actually billed for a Wi-fi service that was not available?

Where did you see it advertised? There's no mention of such a service being available on TUI flights that I can find online.

What plane did you fly on?

Were you led to believe that the plane had WIFI?

Did you pay for the service?

If so, have you asked for a refund?

If so, have you received your refund or have TUI refused to refund you?

Let us have the full story before you accuse a large company of fraud and immorality on a public forum.

There is no mention of cost for this service.

What plane did the OP fly on?
    Did they pay for wifi?

To be clear, the service that TUI is saying is "rolling out" is the ability to connect to their in-plane wi-fi network so that you can stream their in-flight movies etc to your own device rather than using the seat-back screen.

It is not access to the internet, which is what I thought the OP was referring to.

Maybe the OP could clarify which service they were expecting?

    Yes, you're right.

The OP refers to using WHATSAPP in the title of the thread.
    Not streaming.
