Octopus Points

Sixth Anniversary First Post
Just like any energy company their energy saving events are a sham. They pay me around 100 "octopoints" for every kWh saved. Sounds impressive until you want to redeem them and find out the points are are pracrically worthless. My 1800 octopoints accrued so far by sitting in the cold and dark are worth just £1.34! Why did I bother?
Makes Nectar look positively bountiful!

    Better than nothing 🤷‍♀️

Your lucky. Last few saving sessions have delivered 16 points, or 2p..

The energy saving events and rewards are not determined by the energy supplier but by the National Grid and what they want to pay from the bids put in.

Cast your sham statement on the right party.

It was known ahead of time that the Savings Sessions this year were going to be a waste of time, even Octopus suggested as much. Playing along with them only encouraged them. It's not down to Octopus, it's down to NESO. The only thing Octopus have done wrong is carrying on with them at all rather than telling NESO where to go.

Not really Octopus’ fault, the NESO are not paying much per kWh this winter, unlike last winter £1.75\£3.00 iirc. last year i earned over £100

    22/23 £74
    23/24 £15
24/25 so far 47p. Mind you, I've not been trying to save this 'winter', just opting in. I'm sure if I'd tried I could be up to £1 by now. :joy:
