Mothers name on my Equifax (via CheckMyFile) credit report but not sure why

So I just signed up for Check My File, and it shows info from 3 different agencies. Equifax has my mother down as my financial associate. When I expand the info it says it was "created by Tesco bank". My parents used to have Tesco bank but many years ago, I myself have never had a Tesco bank. My dad has since passed away, but he lived at the same address as me and has the same initials, but obviously our date of births would be massively different. I also don't think my mum has had a Tesco bank for around 7 years, I don't know if she has closed it or just left it dormant.

All other info seems correct. The credit cards showing are only my own on all 3 agencies. So my mothers info is not showing up anywhere else other than financial associations via Equifax (doesn't show up for Transunion or Experian).

So I just have some questions.......

1. Why would this mix up happen ?

2. Why does it only show on Equifax ?

3. Thankfully my mother is always perfect on paying off credit cards, but should I get it removed anyway ? She is in her 80s now.

4. Given my mother had a mortgage that is now paid off, and I don't have one, is this actually a positive thing for my rating even though it is an error ? Will getting it removed actually be a negative ?

5. Could this negatively effect benefits if I ever go through a benefit review ? I don't have any financial associates, I am also single.

I have attached a screenshot, I have censored my mothers personal info.

Thanks for any help.

If it a case of your mother and you having the same or very similar names and/or addresses? It's likely just a mismatch by the systems used to report data. I'd definitely get it corrected. I'd complain to both Equifax and Tesco Bank, saying there is incorrect information being reported to your credit files which you want corrected/removed.

As above.  Just report it to Equifax and give them the details.  It happens more than often with people with similar names, initials etc - it’s a computer that does the matching and can get it wrong.

Not all providers report to all three CRA’s.  It’s just Equifax’s computer that has made the match.

It can be sorted but will just take a bit of time.
