Morning all. I'm watching the sky, there's a band of pale pink over a band of pale blue.

The lovely sky kept me watching for too long. At about 5.30am the moon was so huge and bright, unfortunately I missed the blood moon as that night was cloudy.I spent more time in the kitchen sorting out unwanted equipment and putting it in the car boot. I now wonder if I'm going to be overwhelming the recipient of all this stuff. If she doesn't want any of it I'll take it to a CS. Talking of which, I dropped in to mine with two more jackets and the jogging trousers on my way to the dry cleaners with three others and two thick cotton zipped cardigans. My need for a range of outerwear has shrunk enormously in recent years. It's a wrench but necessary. This morning I'll treat myself to a cafe breakfast again. This may become a habit 😀 After that I'll get back to tackling the packing up in the kitchen and make me feel better.@Chrisca - lemon muffins sound delicious.Hugs to all.13

Morning Gers, thanks for starting.
A bright but chilly start again, it's nice to see the sun though. I didn't get on here yesterday, I got up and decided I didn't like the way I'd reorganised the kitchen, it just didn't work. So, off the counter tops came everything and after a bit of cursing, things got put back in different places. Don't know if this will be better, it was the way it was for a reason, I just wanted it to look different.
Will find something to do today as OH will be watching the rugby. Gammon for dinner tonight a first for me, I tried trout last night and enjoyed it. I'm not really a fish lover, but bought it when on offer so it had to be used.
Izzy, a belated happy birthday, glad you enjoyed your holiday.
Gers, enjoy your breakfast.
Happy Saturday to all, enjoy your day and hugs to all who need them. Take care.12 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Another chilly start here and the frost is back again. We currently have blue sky and sun too but I doubt there will be any warmth in it.
Yesterday I didn't get round to the bathroom whilst tackling the Friday Tidy so that is waiting to be done this morning. Then the towels and mats can go in the wm and put upstairs on the airer. It's the supermarket sweep today with DS. He's working this morning so it will be around lunchtime. It always seem to be the busiest time and I prefer to go earlier when his work doesn't get in the way. Once it's been put away I reckon an afternoon of sloth will follow!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, keep yourselves warm until the promised warmer weather arrives later in the week! x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning All
The bright sun is melting the frost away and the washing is on the line, just the bedding to put out once it's finished in the WM.
I have/had a problem with the boiler and contacted the company yesterday that I have a plan with, I got a phone call when I was dropping the little one off to say that the chap could come in half an hour so had to hot foot it home. It's an intermittent fault so may or may not have been fixed! He cleaned something out but can call them out again if it persists. Certainly a quick service from them. Once he was gone I tackled the housework - gold star for me!
As I had to come home quickly I didn't pick up my new phone - mine seems to be randomly phoning folk without my knowledge, some people I do know but some complete strangers. I'll get it later today.
I'm off out to the beach today with DD and the little one - fish and chips will definitely be involved! I think we may have to be wrapped up as it's mighty chilly out there.
Glad you had a good rest Izzy, belated birthday wishes to you.
I'm not baking a cake yet Gers!
Are you OK Nanny?
Hope everyone is well and you have a good weekend. Take care. XX11 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Hope you enjoy the cake mmmmm
Welcome back @IzzyBee and belated Happy Birthday. Glad you had a good time away xBusy day yesterday - DH and I went to our local market town for some veggies and a few essential toiletries, then I saw the new BJ movie with DSis. Today I have the excitement of a jumble sale with my Mum. Don’t think I’ve been to one since I was little - Blue Peter inspired one for some appeal or other!!
DH and I finished the new Bergerac series last night and I fell asleep in the final 10 minutes so will need to rewatch later! We also watched a C5 documentary about the 1952 London Smog - will discuss that with Mum today as she was there!
Dinner tonight is steak, fries, peas and flat mushrooms. It will be a rugby day here also @Chrisca50 😊
Have a good day all

Morning everyone thank you for the birthday wishes it’s chilly but bright here I’ve just hung a load of washing out it’s supposed to stay dry I felt like I never stopped yesterday I got some housework done and I went shopping we had family popping in and out all day . I think this holiday has done me the world of good I know I still have a couple of cleaning jobs but I officially retired from my main work a year ago although I was desperate to retire as the work was so heavy I have struggled with retirement it really hit me hard to the point o was getting depressed I was looking around for volunteering jobs to do but if I was honest with myself it wasn’t what I wanted to do it was just all work but I have had a good talk with hubby well a rant and I feel as if I can manage it now people were saying to me make the most of it aren’t you lucky I it just didn’t feel that way but some big decisions have been made and I feel more settled in myself isn’t it silly how something can just knock you for six I think I have just always worked so many hours and always been so busy I just felt as if I had to fill every minute in i just couldn’t cope anyway onwards and upwards as they say . The wi if was terrible where we were but I have tried to read along I’m sure I will catch up on everything. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all. The sun's shining here but I bet it's cold out.
Late to bed last night as I was playing for one of my Morris sides at a ceilidh; we were the entertainment spot in the interval. Got there early and had a few dances as well and saw quite a few people I know and don't see very often.
Did a large pile of washing once we got back and that's now drying. DH went to put up the whirli washing line yesterday and couldn't find the hole in the ground as the grass had grown over it!
Today will be mainly rest and recovery plus I'm looking forward to an afternoon of wall to wall rugby. I'll make tarragon chicken for tonight; we still have some massive spring onions to eat up so they will be used. I'm not getting on very well with losing a few pounds so must try harder
Hope everyone's weekend goes well.11 -
Morning all, thanks for the start @Gers. The weather today started off cloudy but the sun is out now, admittedly a bit watery, but it's better than greyness! Needless to say, it's chilly too.
Yesterday's jobs all got done and it was a good thing that I checked my bank account because the last adjusted payment for CT hadn't been taken. I phoned the relevant department and it seems they'd cancelled the DD - no idea why. I'd informed them I was now on my own and they'd applied the single person's discount but, as far as I was aware, there hadn't been any change in the payment method, the DD has always come out of my account. Anyway, I paid over the phone and also set up a new DD ready for next month. When it came to teatime I didn't fancy the planned fish fingers etc and ended up with a bowl of tomato soup, peppered ham & mustard sandwiches and a piece of the almond cake I'd made. Thoroughly enjoyed.
DS has just phoned to say he's on his way, so what I do today will depend on how long he stays. No matter, I didn't have anything in particular planned. I've finished reading another book and will see if he wants to borrow it as I know he likes the author (John Grisham). Now I'm on an Ian Rankin one (not about Rebus) that's promising to be a good read.
I hope everyone has an enjoyable and stress-free day, hugs for the Poodles, as ever - take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Morning everyone
Lovely blue sky this morning, though quite chilly still - I have washing to hang out.
Yesterday afternoon was weird, we took the children out in our garden...they had coats on, then it got really warm so they came off, I even took my fleece off and had bare arms, then it went dark and cold started pouring and we had to run inside. Ten minutes later the sun came back out.
Pleased you got things sorted Izzy
Coxy you'll love the new Bridget Jones movie, DD in Germany is going to see it today too.
My mam used to be always dragging me to jumble sales when I was little or helping at them, I used to hate them at the time but I'd enjoy a good rummage now! She used to tell me to get to the front to get knitted things she could unravel and re-use the wool. I always wished I could stay at home with my dad, like my brothers did, but no... girls went to jumble sales!
Right I'm going to hang the washing out and then clean the inside of the kitchen window, the outsides were done the other day so now the insides look dirty. I expect I'll see little one at some point, we have a project to do for DDs birthday.
Hope everyone has a good day x11
