Hi chasing soon possible easy money i signed up with Rift with them saying they would take a percentage of the final amount. After a year ive been emailed several times now saying i have to pay £88 per tax year claim going back 4 years. Rift never mentioned this ever and after me asking them for a possible figure they never replied say i owe them money before anything's done. Now they've emailed me saying ive got 7 days to pay otherwise i will get a CCJ. HMRC say ive nothing to pay regarding any self assessment. Looking forward to any thoughts going forward.

Why are you using a third party for something you can do for free yourself 🤔

Maybe it's time to check what you actually agreed to in the contract you have with Rift.

I wonder if HMRC have been refusing claims and Swift are now charging up front.

Ask them to point out where in the agreement you signed it states that you have to pay this amount.

You can only get a CCJ  if it is ordered by the court.   You would have the chance to defend the claim in court and even then, if the court ruled that you had to pay it , if you pay it then you will not get a CCJ.
