Length of time active for access code for government gateway to HMRC online

I have a government gateway user id and a password to get onto HMRC online services, but the system then comes up with ( and it might do it every time ? ) :-

Text message

Get codes sent to a mobile phone.

Voice call

Get codes by automated message to a UK mobile or landline.

Authenticator app for smartphone or tablet

Get codes generated by an authenticator app on your mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet.

Does anybody know specifically how long the access code is active for ?

I might need to use a neighbour's computer and just quickly go home to pick up the access code as an automated message on my landline ( I don't have a mobile ).

No idea about landlines and whether you have to answer immediately or if the system allows the code to be recorded on an answering service.

The code received by SMS has a 15 minute validity.

The good news is that you can then stay active for two weeks without needing to take that step. 

If you have a cordless phone, are you close enough that it works in the neighbour's garden???
