Hope you all have a good weekend. x14 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
It's been raining overnight but looks to be fine this morning but still cold. The moon last night was beautiful, I think it's a full blood moon tonight so hoping for clear skies.
My basket weaving the other night was good but not enough time to finish it although mine looks more like a large coaster! I'll maybe finish it off some time but it was very sore on the fingers. Good to do something different.
Met up with a good friend last night for a chinese meal which was delicious. We had a good chat and put the world to rights!
Friday again, hoping for a quiet day at work and an earlier finish. I'm going to get all the housework done tonight so there's none to do over the weekend - busy few days ahead.
Hope everyone is well, take care. XX14 -
Hi allLoveiy walk in the quiet Welsh countryside yesterday - 5 miles and didn’t see another person.Meeting an ex colleague for coffee this morning then I might actually get some jobs done - it’s been one of those weeks!
enjoy the end of your week

My natural need to be awake and up at the crack of dawn is still fighting with the winter need to stay in bed a while longer! Getting up early is my default though pulling on cold clothes is horrible. After changing the bed linen yesterday I forgot to put my pyjamas back in under the duvet to get warmed by the electric blanket, so they were freezing last night.Pool session was fine. Bed linen all washed and hanging over the airer / bannister and more things cleared from the kitchen. I'm giving away a load of equipment which I don't use any more. Plus I found a brand new twin pack of jogging trousers which are now far too big for me, now I have a wee pile of things for the CS again. The last job was sorting through pillowcases some of which are rather work weary so they are in a bag for the textile dumpster labelled as rags. I collected the four jackets from the dry cleaners, gave two to the CS and have decided to give them the other two also. One I was keen to keep but noticed a couple of tears in the material which I'm sure some clever person can repair easily - it's over 20 years old (at least) so it owes me nothing. I've also got another five jackets / coats in the car to take to the DC as they have a quiet period just now until the holiday cottage season starts soon. Then I'll make a decision about them, I seem to be over-provided in the outerwear department.
It's nonsense!
@Camelot - are you baking a cake???It's a very cold beautiful morning here. Perfect for a wee walk.I hope that everyone has a lovely Friday, hugs to the poorlies and those struggling along.

Morning all, thanks Gers.No sun today and still chilly.I went into town to change my books, a neighbour was waiting at the bus stop, and again for the journey home so we had a good catch up.Saw my veg man on the market and had a quick chat but it was busy, also bought some salmon from another stall I've used before, the chap there is very chatty and helpful & took all the little pin bones out- hopefully!Have resumed my granny square making so called at the wool shop there - I wanted some cream wool. After receiving my lovely cardigan from e bay I wondered if I could do one. If it doesn't look great it will become another blanketOn the way to get DGS from school the road was blocked due to an accident - chaos, but the nursery he used to attend was diverting people round the corner and through their car park so made it in time - they did a great job before the emergency services got there. Had to go another way home Hopefully no was was badly hurt.Made some soup and the meat for tea with the new pot, which were good but it's a weighty beast.Where I put it initially, next to the hob proved no good as the lid wouldn't open properly with a small cupboard above so some things have been shuffled around and it's on a trolley that I move to the pop up plug socket on the other worktop. Used to have the bm on it but haven't used that for ages.Pooch lost her footing yesterday and has a sore back leg, she's had a teeny walk and it seems a bit better so will see how she goes.Hope your day goes well for you all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all. It's another chilly start to the day and looks set to be a rinse and repeat day of sunny intervals and scattered showers.
Being Friday it's the usual admin stuff day - end of week banking, meal plan etc and I have the Housing Manager visit to look forward to as well. No idea what he wants to discuss, maybe it's just the usual annual visit but I think the subject of single tenancy may crop up, as in would I like to downsize now I'm on my own. Not really, I'm happy where I am, thank you. Tea tonight is fish fingers, chips and peas and I need to bake a cake at some point, the cake tin is empty.
I'll pop back in later once Mr HM has been and catch up with everyone's news.Be kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Another cold start but at least it's fine and the sun is doing its best to get through the cloud. The S word is still getting banded about for Northern hills. Don't want any of that.
My surgery review was quite painless yesterday and all blood test results were ok for an old f**t like me! I was straight back home afterwards but it was just so raw outside I felt chilled to my bones when I got back home, so no jobs were done. It was lunch and then the afternoon under the heated throw. Today I am housebound so it's the Friday Tidy in store as usual.
The tempting chocs and sweeties went to a good home yesterday so I must stick to a few day's sensible eating to repair the damage of all the excesses this week. DD and the DGDs were going to see Hamilton last night so they were donated for them to munch on through the show! Incidentally, for anyone thinking of booking for its UK tour, she texted this morning to say it was absolutely fabulous and they all enjoyed it. The tickets were a joint Xmas present for them all from her DP. He didn't go as it's not his thing!
Well must stir myself so have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe x

Morning all! Happy weekend prelude...I spent yesterday potting up dahlia tubers, corms, tmato, flower and brassica seeds,, organising somewhere to put all the stuf when it grows up and general pottering followed by a meal at OHs mums [ my favourite, cottage pie
his is toad in the hole ] We have leftover chicken tikka curry and rice in the fridge for tonight from Wednesday [homemade] and I really need to work out what needs using in the fridge or freezing. I'm such a procrastinator now, I should have done this on Wednesday. Today is probbly front garden slash and burn..ok, probably just a tidy up
Allie, sounds like a lovely walk. Gers, same, I have a few and have different favouites every year. camelot, the basket weaving does sound like fuun though, achey ingers notwithstanding. Rosy fingers crossed for not serious result..I think there should be an exclusion zone around all schools for traffic at start and end of day, there's so much bad driving and parking [I've lived by two schools and the parents are so entitled] Hope the pooch is better later on..Yorkslass, ope it goes ok with the ho. TA, that was very selfless of you, well done!Izzy, welcome back! glad you had a nice time, sounds like it was very worth it. And happy birthday [s] ! Take care all, it is definitely nippier this week, wrap up poodles!

Morning everyone
Looks like being a nice sunny day, though cold - I have my dressing gown and some towels in the wash, they'll go outside before I go out. I'll go down to mam and dads before work as it's banking day.
I went over the road to my friends house after work yesterday and had a good natter - when I got home I had 8 missed calls and a voicemail from little one - I rang back and she said 'Granny where were you I thought you'd died !'
It was an emergency concerning her dolls' bottle which isn't at her house or mine 'so can you just order one from Amazon please.'
Pleased you enjoyed your holiday Izzy
Hope everyone has a good day today x
