Can Aluminium Pans be as good as steel ones on an induction hob.

    Use of a magnet to see if pans will potentially work on an induction hob isn't such a daft idea, although I do agree that checking that way in a shop may get some funny looks.  Friends of mine have just moved house and didn't know if their existing pans would work.  'Testing' them using a fridge magnet at least gave them hope they would work on the new induction hob, and saved them potentially paying for new pans unnecessarily.
