Tax on savings

Hi,
I'm a basic rate tax payer, I have an ISA and other savings.
The interest on my other savings will be less than 1k.
Am I ok in thinking I won't have tax to pay?
I'm confused on the 0% Starting Rate for Savings and the Personal Savings Allowance

If your annual interest from savings is less than £1000, then you won't have to pay tax on it......"It's everybody's fault but mine...."0

The basics.
The first
£12,570 is tax free, be it earning, pension or interest.
The next,
£ 5,000 if interest is tax free, starter savings rate.
The next,
£1,000 is personal savings allowance.
On you figure you owe nothing.
I get £4,300 carers allowance, that leaves me £14,270 of potential interest tax free.
