Building cellar stairs from bricks

Hello, Folks.
I have a building question . . . Roughly how many bricks would it take to build a solid brick cellar staircase?
This is a theoretical question, for something I'm writing. I won't actually be building the stairs, so I'm not actually worried about building regs, etc.
Thanks.

using my theoretical ability of googling and maths......
If a standard staircase has a rise of 3 meters and a run of 5 meters and is 1 meter wide then the space to fill with bricks will be something like 15 square meters.
If a standard brick is 215mm long, 102.5mm wide and 65mm high it's total volume is about .0014 of a square meter
So that would mean you (or your fictional character) would need about 5235 bricks IF you were building it completely solid. Now you or me or anyone with some sense wouldn't build it solid and there's the issue of getting the steps the right height etc and empty space below (for the murderer to hide in? or to have the cupboard where the body might be stashed) . So you might just as easily claim there was 2748 bricks used. You could use much less if all you were building were the steps, counting on it being a good solid structure that didn't need anything supporting it underneath.
No doubt someone will correct my maths and come up with some other completely theoretical number.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
