First direct switch from chase.

Hi Guys
I would like to switch my chase account to first direct to get the switching bonus and regular saver.
I had a HSBC account from 2019 but it is now closed.
Does anybody know if this is likely to affect me qualifying for the switching bonus. Has anyone sucessfully done this.
I have read the terms many times but cant figure out if the fact i used to have a HSBC account will stop me getting the bonus. Curious to hear from anyone who has done similar and been sucessful.

    Really?
New customers only, who haven’t previously held a first direct product. Sorry, we also can’t offer this to people who have opened an HSBC current account on or after 1 January 2018.

You will not be eligible for this offer if:
•You’re already a first direct customer or have previously held a first direct product or have opened an HSBC current account on or after 1 January 2018.

IMO, it's perfectly clear that you are aren't eligible because you opened the account before after Jan 2018.

Reads to me that the OP won't qualify as they opened the HSBC account in 2019

Yes, my apologies - I misread the OP. You are right.
