Domain available before expiry?

I saw a domain i want and see it expires in 3 months but today i went to check and its available to buy? one site says the whois information is not availble but the another shows it as registered until the expiry. can anyone explain why this is? and how am i able to purchase it for a regular price from godaddy 3 months before its due to expire?

Could be the current owner gave it up early? Its very uncommon but does occasionally happen.

yeah seems domain deletion is a thing but i read a few other forums saying even if its deleted, it would run until the expiry?

The one time I deleted a domain I didnt look to see if it then became available again or not

No once deleted its available for re-registration, but now a days registrar like godaddy don't let it expire and make available at premium cost.
