Looking for a pair of wired open-backs within £150 budget and have currently narrowed down list to:
- Grado SR-80x
- Fiio FT1 Pro
- Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro
- Sennheiser HD599SE
- Sennheiser HD600S
All I can say is I don't particularly want anything which is over bright, any thoughts on which of the above might be best?

To reiterate posts in another thread:Ones that might suit you are not necessarily those that others think are good or like. One person's well defined with clarity can be your over bright. What has been recommended ( not specific 'phones ) is to go and listen to them in a demo.As an ex pro of many years ago I know those I believe are good for recording, mixing ( very few!) and monitoring. Those 'phones for recording ( the cheaper ones in that section) would not meet your need ( not open back) but should be rugged enough for pro use. The two other areas will be more expensive. Most of the cheaper (<150 ) all have individual drawbacks that you may or may not like.Tis you personal choice. Believe recommendations and reviews if you wish....1

As suggested above, go and listen to them yourself with music of your choice, what suits some wont suit others. See what Richer Sounds have to offer if there's a branch near youNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1

Tried my local Richer Sounds but didn't have FT1 Pro in stock. Did have HD-560S but no wire so couldn't listen to those either.0

Compare your headphones question with:"I want to buy a car - which one should I get?"and estimate just how many different answers you might get!1

Not able to try them anywhere but took a chance in the end on the Fiio FT1 Pro. Admittedly the first (and maybe the last) good headphones I have ever bought but sound is incredible. No need to worry about lack of bass, this is definately very present and clear, incredibe depth. If I had to criticise anything it would be that the cables need to be removed to fit them in the case provided.0
