Hi all,
On 19 Feb my Father passed away, he was always the main driver on the insurance that he shared with Mum.
Can Mum claim the No Claims from previous policies?

The insurance company might transfer the policy and the NCB to your mother but I don't believe they are obliged to do so. I think most would, but I'm guessing. Ask them if they have a specialist bereavement department. I'm not sure if that's a thing in insurance companies but it they do they are likely to be helpful.0

NCD is applied to the person not the vehicle or named drivers. It started as a marketing gimmick.
The NCD does not move from your father to your mother.
Firstly do a quote with and without to see if it makes a marginal difference. For many it is a fairly small amount.
You could ask the current insurer if they will do an introductory discount to move the policy to your mum. Some will do a couple of years NCD in these cases.0 -
She should speak to the bereavement team at the insurer in question, its not uncommon for insurers to agree to transfer it to the surviving widow(er)WaterBourne said:On 19 Feb my Father passed away, he was always the main driver on the insurance that he shared with Mum.
