My renewal from Churchill came through the door the other day, up from £600 last year to £750. Absolutely no changes, no claims etc.I think they assume if you are on auto renewal they can take the ****.
Got the same insurance from Sainsbury's Bank for £420, and guess what, Churchill came up in that search at £480.

Sounds normal, that's why auto renew is such big mistake.. you're paying extra for "being lazy" and not looking around.0

Thought they weren't allowed to do this any more?"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

The big one people get caught out with is the channel, they phone up to negotiate and so the sale is done on the phone. So at renewal they have to quote against their telephone price which will normally be notably more than their quote on the aggregators (which legally is a separate channel than their website).
Similarly some insurers sell a more cut down version of their product on aggregators to other channels which again means people switching channels cause oddities to happen.0
