Infrared panels on wooden summerhouse porch

Hi all,
Long time lurker first time poster. I’ve also searched the boards for this but keep finding thinly disguised spam threads. If someone has asked a similar question before please point me in the right direction.
I’m building a summerhouse from wood with an overhanging porch that spans the width of the front. To get more use from it over the year I’d like to put infrared heating panels on the underneath of the porch roof.

Has anyone done this and if so got any tips? The surface of these things can get quite hot so I’m worried about setting fire to the place. But then they are used domestically and internally so surely that must be ok?

Read the manual. If it can't be fixed to a timber surface, the manual will say this. Also, you can add some spacers or brackets to create a gap between the panel and the surface you fix it to.0

I assume these panels are meant to point downwards, not upwards.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
Morning!
in response to the first two posters, you can get IP45 to IP65 panels rated for bathrooms and yes I’ll read the manuals. However googling the panels online provides a bewildering array of choice and that’s a lot of manuals to read. I was hoping for some recommendations from people who had installed them themselves
Re heating the sky, the panels will be pointing down so will be heating me and the ground. I appreciate that ground is quite large and takes a lot of heating so will be wearing a jacket and leave the panels off for as long as possible. The outside heating will be only for if I’m too cold even in a jacket.0 -
@ThePaperTiger
What you are proposing to do is not something I would do but if you do go ahead put in a outdoor grade push timer switch incase you inadvertently wander off and leave heaters on.

That item you provided link to could explain why the military are having difficulty recruiting, whoever expects staff to wander about a desert clad in nylon and polyester wants to have another think.1 -
Something like this would be OK under the overhang. https://www.hifi-tower.co.uk/Home-Living/Heating/Infrared-Heater/Hothead-Infrared-Radiant-Ceiling-Heater-Halogen-Heating-Tube-2-Steps-750-1500-W-Silver.html0
