Universal Credit And Daughter Buying House

First off, thank you for allowing me to join MSE.
I live in social housing and before the changes to buying your own home my daughter whom lives with my wife & I, asked if we could get a price to buy the house. (She has lived with us since birth) We did this and it’s looking likely that she wants to go through with the purchase. However, before she does, she wants to know what difference it will make to my benefits.
This February I migrated from ESA to Universal Credit, in addition I get New Style ESA and High Rate PIP. Now I know any such purchase would lead to me losing housing and council tax benefit, but will it affect my benefits in any other way? Our name will not be on the mortgage, but we will contribute to food and utility bills. Thank You

Your daughter won't be able to buy your house without you buying it too unless she is on the tenancy and also holds this right.
The right to buy is with yourselves as tenants.
Have her mortgage company approved a mortgage on the property in just her name with you all being on the deeds?0 -
If you are to continue to live in the property then it won't matter if you or your daughter own the property as even if you did it's disregarded, so benefit wise everything would continue except the housing element of UC. With council tax that could depend on the final setup if you need to be an owner with the RTB.Felmore said:First off, thank you for allowing me to join MSE.
