Thanks again for your comments, much appreciated.
I have spoken to Corona again, who advised that the previous owners have not completed their Change of Occupany form, and that they do not offer residential contracts (so we couldn’t stay with them even if we wanted to).They will liaise with the previous owners and said the next step is to wait for them to complete their procedures, if they need anything from me they will be in touch, then the switch to Octopus can go ahead.
I can also confirm the property is not on business rates 👍I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pension, Debt Free Wanabee, and Over 50 Money Saving boards. So who is paying for any electricity you use, plus the standing charge, in the meantime - until the previous owners complete their 'Change of Occupancy' form?
Will Corona charge the previous owners? Or will you be on a 'deemed contract' with Corona?
(If you're on a 'deemed contract' at business rates, it might be a bit expensive.)
Also, Corona seem to say they need 30 days notice to end a business supply contract - so that might apply to the previous owners.
And once Corona tell you that the form is complete, and you contact Octopus, it could take up to 5 days for the transfer to happen. Again, who pays the charges for that 5 day period?
(Maybe Corona will tell you in advance when the 30 day notice period will end, and you tell Octopus in advance to do the switch on that date.)

Thought I’d post an update.
The previous owners finally completed the Change of Occupancy, and on the 4th April Corona confirmed that a Deemed Contract is in place. The letter states the start date is 21st August (the date we moved in).
I’ve again requested a switch to Octopus (which is due to happen today), the letter stated;
“Both parties will be rebilled and credit notes/refunds given accordingly.”
but so far heard nothing from Corona in respect of the electricity usage from August until now.

Final update;
We had a bill of over £1,200 from Corona for a 7 month period on their deemed rate. I paid this and the switch to Octopus went through shortly after.
I then submitted a complaint to Corona, and they have calculated a refund of £990 is due back to us.
RESULT!
