Theatre Show Age 'Restriction' - is it law?

Hi.
I've bought tickets to see the stage show of "Ghost Stories" for five members of my family (inc children aged 13, 10 & 8.), who have all seen the film and are interested to see the live experience.
I've noticed since buying the tickets that the show is advertised as "Age Range 15+" with a content warning "Please be advised that Ghost Stories contains moments of extreme shock and tension.
The show is unsuitable for anyone under the age of 15. We strongly advise those of a nervous disposition to think very seriously before attending."
Is the 15 rating like the cinema, where it's a legal requirement to be 15? Or is the age rating just guidance/recommendation for the stage show and not legally enforced? I don't want to go and be turned away.
What do you think?

The more pertinent question is likely to be does the theatre enforce such a policy.
Even if it wasn't law, the theatre could legally have a policy restricting shows to certain ages, which you agree to when booking.
The best way to answer that question is to ask the theatre.0 -

You might find other customers are annoyed that children under 15 turn up for the show. Kids tend to talk more.0

There is a table in the link below that may give an indication.
https://www.cheaptheatretickets.com/tips-for-taking-young-children-to-the-theatre/#:~:text=It is very important to,next to an accompanying adult.Make £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023
Make £2024 in 2024...0 -
the film was rated for 15+ years in UK.0

you might get away with the 13 year old - not so much with the 10 and 8
as already suggested, ring and ask but be prepared for refusal AND no refund (assuming the age rating was clear and you agreed to it)
Sounds Like the show isn’t suitable for young children and as a poster above says - I wouldn’t want to be in a performance that was rated 15+ to find it was full of squeeling, noisy, terrified children
edit - not that the vast majority of adults seem to be able to “behave” in these scenarios either1 -
Staff asked if we realised the show was 15+, I said yes, they said enjoy the show.
Seems like it was just advisory.
FWIW - we loved it, highly recommended.0
