Sunday = upstairs
Empty box in RoD1- started
iona - I've had a root through the box in preparation for my invasion of its contents. Two CDs are now in another box - ready to be taken by DS the next time he calls. Not yet dealt with includes: Monopoly, beard trimming set, training notes (not mine), bedside clock in the shape of a car, toddler's medical bag, and spare bathroom tiles. I think there's a magic set in there too... definitely the box , presumably with contents. I'm nothing if not eclectic 🤣 The only thing that's staying chez moi is the Monopoly. Ddil is going to love me 😉🤣

Morning all
Went to see The Drifters last night...great show. My parents had both booked so I went with stepdad and my friend, gave her mums ticket. This is the friend who supported me so brilliantly when I needed support so was happy to gift her the ticket.
I'm meeting someone at work re a booking later this morning then I'm hoping for a quiet day.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

My heart goes out to you Valli, my mum was diagnosed as early stages of Altzheimers, although she is still able to live independently at the moment. I hope the move goes well 🤗

Beard trimming kit and training file/ notes are in the box for DS.
Receipt dated May 2011 binned.

A.
Chess & Draughts set in a tin - unopened
The Magician's Apprentice Book with magic tricks.
Messaged DS. Both now in cs bag.
Revision notes and Certificate added to DS's box.
That just leaves a small dish containing Allen keys, screws, odd earrings (I'm sure the twin of one is upstairs in my jewellery box woot woot), a Lego figure, buttons, nail clippers, tweezers, and Mum's engagement ring. Oh and Action Man's jeep's gearstick 🤣
Once they have been dealt with as appropriate that's Project A completed...and a bit more LR floor unearthed. 😀

Oh Valli thats so annoying. Thank goodness she is moving.
So yesterday I started going through boxes on the big shelving unit in my office. I have several years of DHs accounts that can go so I had an hour shredding. There is more to do and when start something like this I want it done straight away but really there is no rush.
So far today I have done a couple of hours volunteering, washed the car and cleaned all windows inside and out. DH and I have taken a car load of bits and pieces to the recycling centre. The weekend seems to have gone too quickly and the kitchen and utility floors are filthy but I am sitting down for a bit.6 -
Iona - yesterday evening I would have welcomed you (and anyone else with a penchant for devouring my catering leftovers) with open arms. This morning, after an epic play of freezer tetris, followed by fridge meal planning, the leftovers have been suitably dealt with. I have WUDUPA a gazzilion times ( ok, maybe 5 or 6), vacuumed throughout downstairs, returned furniture to the correct rooms. Everyone enjoyed themselves, so that’s that for another year.
I have just come in from HH in the gh, but it is bitter outside and my heart wasn’t really in it. Time for a cuppa and to regroup, methinks.
Valli, I hope things are calmer today.
Round, yep, Action Man’s gearstick. Of course you have one of those, doesn’t everyone?!6 -

Strands with no hints today (yesterday was hopeless), one line on Connections, Wordle in 4.Valli, that home needs its bottom spanked. You've been told your mother has escaped, and then not, and now someone has upset her by telling your mother she's moving. I had 'a word' about training needs when I had to address an upsetting scenario at my mother's nursing home.I've been walking around a pile of stuff on my RoD floor for three weeks, hoping for inspiration as to how I was going to fit it on to the shelves I've been re-organising for weeks. I got it off the floor today, at last. The shelves aren't finished but I've been through all of the floor stuff (boxes and packs of family photographs) and realised that project has been on my To Do list for 19 YEARS! And sitting there, malevolently sneering at me, all that time. It will be done now that I have a plan.Paperwork sorted on my desk, a lot more recycling has gone to the bin outside because it's recycling day tomorrow, and now I've got to get some shreds from the dog's jaws because she's been raiding the bin while I've been reading Fred to catch up.Better is good enough.6
