I don't believe that it was a fine, ( its not your parking fine or anybody else's , ) probably a Parking Charge Notice, PCN, so an Invoice from a private parking company
Which private parking company issued it ?, plus name the actual location or retail park too
You can tell the RK to give the drivers details in writing to the private parking company, to extricate himself from the saga, putting the onus onto the driver
But before doing that, find out the name of the parking company and the alleged breach of the parking rules or contract with said driver, the driver should complain about this to the pizza place
Definitely cheeky using a customer's vehicle for private business, a test run doesn't cut it either2 -
Just wondering if it would be a bit outside motor trade insurance rules and regulations? or do they cover family jaunts in a customer's car?2

Tell Dad to give the driver's details - full name and address - to the private parking company (PPC) online. Details of how to do that are on the back of the PCN (DO NOT use post in case it goes astray.).
But which PPC?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So I suspect he will go to the pizza place and get them to cancel it.It doesn’t excuse what he’s done and I wouldn’t be using him again. But my Dad thinks with his wallet unfortunately.

That was a really, really silly thing to do.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

He doesn't think with his wallet; in this case that was the silliest thing to do,
He's just handed over the piece of paper that he needed to transfer liability.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
