Is brushed brass fittings in a bathroom a good idea?

I am hopefully (if the builders come through) getting my bathroom done this year. We like the look of brushed brass fittings but wonderning if it's a good idea. Seen the odd post online that the affect quickly wears off and it ends up looking terrible.

I suspect that you get what you pay for.We've had Crosswater brushed brass fittings in for over four years and they're as good as new.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

One review - "looks great, but needs constant cleaning..."
If you constantly clean it, then whatever factory protective coating was applied will likely wear off, and then it's downhill.
Like with 'gold' fittings, you need to do your research.
As Doozer says, you need quality-assurance, backed with a warranty, and that usually means initial cost.1 -
