I wanna buy my mum some driving lessons

Hi everyone..

I would like some suggestions on how I can go about buying my mum some driving lessons, do you know of any agencies that do such things.

Is it better for me to do one of those crash course thingys or just buy a number of lessons...

She has some experience, and has gone for a test before and failed, she lost confidence and so hasn't tried again that was about 9 years ago.

I know she is always down about having to depend on my dad to drive her and the kids around...and so I wanted to get her some lessons...I can spend around £300 on it....

So whatdya think?

Cheers

QT x;)

    Hello QT2006

I'll move your thread to the 'Motoring & Public Transport' board.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.

  • I would say check your local area, yellow pages or Thomson local or get recommendations from others who have had lessons with them and see if they are doing any deals. When we were getting some for my son they were £21 each but if you booked 12 they were £20. Some do offfers even better than this sometimes. The only bad thing we found doing this was that he didn't like the guy taking him but he felt obligied to stay with him as we had paid for his lessons. The other thing is make some sort of a card or voucher for your Mum and tell her she can book however many lessons and you will pay for them, that way she can pick her own instructor.

A " crash course " is usually money wasted, get tips from friends/others on the best instructors in your locality, not the cheapest, you are buying a service, not a tin of beans.;)
