Fuse Energy.. Clocking Electric meters?
Comments
-
My Smart meter shows various readings, it is designed to allow solar energy or battery energy to be used if fitted as well as normal mains. (As, I think, most are.) Thus pressing the button runs through a series of readings, even though I do not have either solar or solar+battery. Some these readings indicate spurious inputs or outputs. Active import Reactive import, Active export, Reactive export, Active import test, etc. Some of these extra categories do show spurious readings, but the one you are charged upon is the Active import figure.0

The continuous RED LED is anti creep mode.In my old dumb meter it comes on if less than 20w is being drawn for 3 minutes or longer. (I understand it's 15w for most modern meters.)When in anti creep mode the registers don't increment at all so the few watts of standby stuff you may be using are not charged. (I actually get about 0.25kWh free electricity every day this way as my red led is on most of the time. Yippy!)10+ yrs ago when it came on continuously for the first it scared the bejusus out of me.0

Fuse Energy have been informed that our flat is empty hence no power usage. They claim that they are unable to read the smart meter so continue to submit estimated bills. Also they refuse to give start and end readings but merely give estimated usage figures.0

Welcome to the forum.
Are you visiting the flat periodically (your insurance probably requires you to do so)? If so, can you read the meter yourself and submit those readings to Fuse?sbbaggies1963 said:Fuse Energy have been informed that our flat is empty hence no power usage. We already know that something was still drawing power, from the discussion about the anti-creep light. I don't know if the OP found out what that is/was. Based on what was posted, it drew around 11W.0

8 kWh in 30 days = 8000Wh / 30 / 24 = 11W power registered on average. On a device rated at say some min up to max rate load as accurate to +/-2.5 (older meters more?) upto 100A / 24kW at 240V. (2.5% of 24 kW = 600W)Some measurement device errors can be a mix of zero drift - and scaling error - and that not always linear with load.I suspect nothing to do with supplier - perhaps brand - or even maybe even model - just maybe some variable component tolerances on a batch of one brand / model - creeping outside the creep protection on and off.MY restricted circuits when active but nothing actually "on" draw around 7-8W extra on my IHD display - but thats with an external contactor 4 port meter rather than 5 port - which could be the contactor coil drawing power from the meter - after not before - measurement circuits. Never bothered throwing MCBs of even the restricted sections double pole islotar switches of CUs (one for water one for NSH) etc to isolate further.0

For reference, you should start your own thread covering your topic rather than hijacking an existing thread on an unrelated issue.sbbaggies1963 said:Fuse Energy have been informed that our flat is empty hence no power usage. As we can see, some posters are replying to the original question because you bumped this old thread and we now have different topics covered in the same thread.
A board admin may see this and split your question off.
