Misleading extended returns HP / Opia

Options
Hi there, I feel a bit of a fool but am wondering what I can do about my situation.

I needed to buy a new laptop and bought an Omnibook from HP because it was advertised as having an extended returns period of 90 days.

I didn’t realise that this offer was operated by an external company, Opia, and that you needed to register the product within them within 14 days. Whilst this was stated on the ‘click through’ from the advert, it did not appear in the terms and conditions I received for the order and I did not think to check at the time.

I am over 30 days from purchase, have used the laptop and am not liking it as it is giving me much worse eye strain than other laptops I’ve used. Is there any route I can take to requesting a refund?

I’m not sure it’s possible, but I spend over £1K so I would really like to get a refund if at all possible.

If you are getting eye strain because it is inherently faulty then you can certainly request a refund but HP can choose to repair.

However, eye strain is nearly always a user problem and caused by anything from poor posture to not taking breaks  to wrong glasses to lighting.

Totally agree. To add to this bit, screen brightness set too high is also often a cause.
