Dye door on top of oil?

Any thoughts on whether I could sucessfully dye a door which has been waxed with Osmo Door-oil?  Colour is a lot whiter than I would like and would prefer a darker red colour if possible.

    I don't think it's a good idea.

Almost certainly won't work, for the reason your suspect.
Read up on the Osmo Oil product, and see what - if anything - can be applied over it. Ask Osmo if needed.

Wood dye needs to soak into the wood. Anything like wax, oil or varnish will stop this and the dye will sit on top. Wood also takes the dye better when sanded to open up the grain.
