Sandwich expiry

I shudder to think that date might be in the American format and actually means 5th October, not 10th May...1

I'd read the ingredients on the back. They sometimes tell you about the packaging.I may eat one if that's the only option on a day out - but I wouldn't be doing it daily. But then I have a stash of coffee in tins and cereal bars for travel that have a years shelf life. Our milk now has weeks of lasting and tastes weird these days. It's just that bread shouldn't last that long.Surprised as I've found Spanish food is more thoughtful about what goes into the food and coffee.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

I agree with you about the Spanish, I don't see rows and rows of ready meals, I do wonder if they are more for tourists and won't see them in non resorts.twopenny said:Surprised as I've found Spanish food is more thoughtful about what goes into the food and coffee.
I personally couldn't bring myself to buy one, so bough some donuts, the Lotus one was amazing.

What was the sandwich?HillStreetBlues said:Would you buy a sandwich that the eat by date was over two months away?
I wouldn't.
Brioche bread from the corner shop has a similar durability on the best before date. Hard cheeses can last a couple of months.
Certainly see it as doable if avoiding meat and other things that go off quickly but wouldn't be running out to buy one.0 -
It think it was cheese and ham, they did a chicken tikka one that expired in April, so 2 months from DOM rather than 3.DullGreyGuy said:
