So I've had a quote for sorting out some damp on my  living room wall after a leak in the kitchen shares the same wall. The guy mentioned a Pam ties certificate afterwards to guarantee the work I've never heard of it is it worthless piece of paper or will it actually guarantee his work.

Thanks

Had a look for Pam Ties - Appears to be in the business of selling damp proofing treatments and courses. I can't see any certificates or guarantees being worth the paper they are printed on.
And if you have had a leak in a kitchen causing damp in a wall, you don't want to be slapping waterproof render/plaster or any other damp "cures" on the wall. If the wall is soaking wet, get the room temperatures up to a reasonable level and run a dehumidifier for a few weeks. Knock off any loose plaster, and replaster. Give the wall a thin mist coat and leave for 3-4 months. Sometime in June or July, redecorate.

What exactly has this "expert" recommended ?

Hi thanks for your reply. That's what I thought as I couldn't find any info online regarding the company that give the guarantee apart from a shop and courses.

I'd had a dishwasher leak on same wall as kitchen and living room put some stain block on and redecorated 12 months later further up all white salt marks have come through the lining paper.

Not received the quote yet so can't tell you what he's advised but picture above was original leak then we stain blocked and redecorated and pic below was what came through last week

If/when you get details of what he is proposing, post the information up here.
By the looks of it, you have some salt contamination - Treating it with a suitable stain blocker (Zinsser 1-2-3 Plus, not the regular 1-2-3) may be effective.
