i heard that regular savers are a con as you only get half the promised interest!
And my energy bills doubled in the winter even though I was on a fixed rate!
I have just sold all my Premium Bonds and rebought new ones, because new ones have a better chance of winning apparently .
Yes, and pigs can fly too, on a like for like basis how on earth does one PB have a greater chase of success than the other?
You may have noticed that some previous posts were referring in joky terms to some of the myths/nonsense you can read on the internet. This was in the same vein.....
No, I agree with you, if you look on the back of those old PB paper bonds, you'll see they have a 'best before' date on them.

It's a bit like lottery tickets, your chances of winning decrease massively after the draw has taken place...

Oh dear sorry, entirely my own fault, I was just looking through an handful of your comments on forum Albermarle, I didn't bother to scroll back on any of the actual threads though and obviously made a twerp of myself here. Have to remember to look before I leap in future.

Someone been reading the Telegraph again?  It's full of woe-is-me tales from very wealthy people who might face the terrifying prospect of paying a little more tax and having to sell one of their yachts.

Don't get any with consecutive numbers, they're far less likely to win...

I haven’t read a copy for years but I did look into a digital subscription when the Guardian Crossword/Sudoku app was closing. I seem to recall that it was £15 a month for the basic paper and £35 if you wanted to do the sudoku,

If you use Microsoft edge as your browser and you open a new tab, you get a MSN page. It is full of clickbait headlines, and prominent are those from the Telegraph, Express, GB news etc screaming about speculation about cash ISAs, IHT, tax on pensions etc
I think some of these unfounded anxieties come as much from this sort of internet unpaid sources, as it does from people actually reading the papers ( digitally or the actual paper copy) .
