Dow Corning is generally regarded as a good brand.  Remember, as ever with jobs like this, preparation is everything.  Make sure everything is perfectly clean before you start, I also usually give the area a wipe over with meths to get rid of any grease that may be there.

You need to decide whether to use low or high modulus sealant, and whether neutral or acetoxy cure.  I have used low modulus neutral cure for the jobs you describe, but suggest you seek other views as I am no expert!

Ditto. If you want a quick fix where it won't be seen, use the generic stuff, for anything that you want to last a while and retain its colour and not yellow or grow mould in <4 years. I'd go for Dow.

When we had our bathrooms redone, the builders used only BAL brand sealant.  It is however rather expensive.

If it lasts two or three times longer it will not be that much more expensive than the cheaper product especially if you have to replace it often.

I've used the Dow 785n linked above, and been very happy with it. I'd previously used cheaper own brand stuff, and it was horrible to work with. It was much easier to get a decent finish with the Dow, and buying anything cheaper is a false economy IMO.

Calley, are you familiar with Fugi-style tools?
Even the cheap substitutes work, and superbly so.
And if one of the surfaces is tiled with obvious grout lines, then get a set with the wee thingy that'll glide over them and not bump.
If you hadn't considered using these tools, you will want to kiss me.
