Need new mobile - LCD or OLED

I am quite particular when it comes to mobiles. I hate buying new things and would prefer like for like which in the technology world is impossible. My 6 year old Moto G7 plus is outdated (worried about security issues as no longer updated) and constantly crashes so I'm looking for a new Motorola. I have been looking at the G75 or the neo 50. One is LCD and one is oled. I always have my brightness low (it's currently 40%), my iPad is even lower than that. Given that I prefer a lower brightness is an LCD or OLED likely to be better? My current phone is LCD. I have also been reading about pwm causing eye strain. I can't seem to find a listing for pwm on either of the phone specs for g75 or neo 50. Any views?

If you prefer lower brightness then both LCD and OLED can achieve that... LCD can achieve higher brightness than OLED.

My brightness is currently at 18% so you appear to prefer a brighter screen than I do, but these things are very relative to the brightness of the environment you are in.

Unless you need good clarity in a very bright environment then in principle OLED is vastly better with much higher contrast due to blacker blacks. There will also be an element of quality of implementation but given how much more expensive OLED screens are if someone wants to do budget then they'll use LED though in principle they could install an OLED screen and then use sweetie wrappers as the final layer.

Go for the OLED, at the end of the day you will set the screen to what suits you best....regardless of the technology.  So it won't make any difference to you overall.

    brightest can be adjusted.

With regards to eye drain, I tends use dark mode. Turn on reading mode if you do some reading with the phone.

Moto G75 should be more durable as it is MIL-STD-810H compliant

Also, have a look at Moto G85 12 + 256. it is about £200 and can claim free wireless earbuds. The cons of this phone is it only has security update until 2028

Thanks for the advice. I was concerned about the security issue being limited but I love Motorola phones and have had them for years. I did try an edge 50 fusion and funnily enough I had the screen brightness on 18%, but I absolutely hated the curved edge and couldn't get on with it. I was considering the G85 until I read it has a curved edge so I've ruled that one out.
