Storage Radiator exchange

We have 2 old storage radiators which are beyond repair. Cost of replacement units is £800 each. The electrician has quoted £1000 to install. I realise that the new heaters need a new permanent power supply in addition to the existing economy 7 connection but the cost does seem excessive.
Has anyone else had similar work done?

I paid around £1100 per heater installed for my quantums. Cost of the heaters themselves was about £800 at the time. It included disposal of the existing NSHsOfficially in a clique of idiots1

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

If the "existing economy 7 connections" are already there and there are some sockets nearby ("new permanent power supply") what exactly job is needed except removing the old radiators and fixing the new ones? I think, for the "new permanent power supply" even an extension lead can be used or the cable can be simply extended if needed.1

Otherwise a longer cable with a plug in neat trunking to a nearby socket would do.0
