I see split system aircons available for £500-£600. Don't know, how much it's to install, but it's one-day work max.If you can afford it, you can have cool nights in summer and warm in winter. And it doesn't take any floor space. However, you possibly need a planning permission for it.0

They used to do panel/floor standing fan heaters with a timer on.I borrowed one to use during the artic blast when I had no heating. They seem to have dropped the timer thing but they are still available. They don't make a noise like a fan. That means you can have the heat come on before you poke your toes out of the bed.I've also used a portable fan heater which is noisy but I found if I heated the room and switched off I could do it for less than 1kw.A lot depends on the size of your room.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Pricey though.

Why not test the theory and turn off the radiator and see how cold it is when its not being heated throughout the day as part of the whole house before making the decision? As has been said, all electric heaters are as expensive as one another so get or borrow a cheap fan heater and try heating the room when required - then see how much it costs on your smart meter (expect it to be 50p an hour when running flat out). I understand the current warm spell will end after the weekend and we'll experience some frost so an ideal time to try it out.
Personally I would dream of using electric heating because of the obscene cost of doing so compared to using the central heating. I'd move the radiator location, installing one sized to fit the new location. Being a DIY forum, I can say I could do this in my house in a few hours for little more than £100 for all parts (pipework, rad, valves, etc) - it is a small job.1 -

Also depends on the layout of the existing pipes and routing of new ones. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0
