Hi all.
HELP! I am new to this site and hoping for answer and advice. My husband has received a letter from Capquest in relation to 1/6/2023 connected to a Shop Direct(Carval). We have no idea what this is and the sum attached in the letter of £1063.20 Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.

A good starting point, if you're not aware of the debt, is to send a "Prove It" letter - there's a template available over on the Debt-Free Wannabe board.

I have just noticed that there is no address.. The letter implies that Arrow Global Guernsey LTD has been assigned to Arrow Poplar Designated Activity Company but no address. If we pay now with "the client's permission " the balance can be reduced to £265.80 ??The letter does sound legitimate and scary. The web site I can contact is Opos' secure website

Arrow sold most of their book to Capquest a couple of years ago, but it seems odd that there's no address to contact them on.  I'm not sure if there's any information here that may help?    https://www.arrowglobal.net/customers

That aside, it would be worth your husband checking all three of his credit files to see if there's any record of an outstanding debt:  https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loans/check-free-credit-report/

But the bottom line is, if you're not aware of the debt and don't believe you owe it, it's down to them to prove that you do.
