Hello Everyone,
Need some advice on my current SFE scenario.
• I was studying with OU on a Part-time tuition fee loan , started Feb 25 and Have withdrawn Mar 25 - OU advised me to do this for the reasons below.
• I have been advised that the £909 That has been paid to the OU is still what im liable for which I Understand, the remaining 75% was cancelled.
• I have a confirmed, Unconditional Firm acceptance at Keele University starting In September.
• I need to Apply for Maintenance + Full time tuition Fee Loan for 25-26 for my Time at Keele.
• My father used to work full time in the year 24-25 but Is leaving full time work , earned > £30k p.a . My Mother has Also worked part time in the year 24-25 (earned ~£3k) but has left Part time work.
• Neither of My Parents will be employed by April 25 (Net earnings of 0) however are looking to find Part time Work in the year 25-26 - They have not yet got a job secured and so cannot predict income on the form.

• We want to avoid Overpayment from SFE however aren’t sure of what we need to do.
• I am aware that for Maintenance Loans for 25-26, SFE base this on Annual family income earned for 23-24. I have been told by SFE to ask parents to submit a CYI form when this is released as Income will have dropped by 15%.
• I am seeking Clarification on what We need to Put on the CYI form For Expected earnings as this cannot be confirmed, and how this will work as My Parents won’t be earning and so contributions will be limited.

If anyone else knows about Maintenance Grants for Accommodation and In which months they are received that would be great.

The guidance from SFE is accurate. Your parents put down their expected income. Sfe then adjusts your maintenance loan.
Maintenance loans would be used to cover your accommodation costs. The loan arrives in 3 parts, generally a couple of days after you have registered at the university as being back at uni for the term. Student accommodation usually allow you to pay for their accommodation in line with this, though there may be a deposit you need to make in advance of the first term’s loan.
