The traffic comes with a free TCM traffic module that gives you traffic updates without having to use your phone or subscribe to TOMTOM's traffic plus service..
There have been mixed reports about the module but I have used a TCM for a garmin nuvi 300T and it was excellent. Dont get me wrong sometimes it would exaggerate the situation but with a bit of common sense then this is no problem.0 -
I have the 510 with traffic adaptor and it's a waste of time IMHO, just stick to the non-traffic version. IIRC the Garmin uses a different data source for its traffic reports which is more reliable.0

You can buy an adapter or split the wire to connect it to your car ariel so its hidden and get a better signal..0

or if you needed you could subscribe to tomtom traffic, this way uses a mobile phones data connection to download information to your satnav (a little more expensive though)
I have the tomtom 510 and have just received a replacement new updated TMC adapter and to be honest they are much better than they were...the old ones were pretty uselessPhilnicandamy's OH and mum to a two year old god help me!:p

This is more for the old mouse version that couldnt pick up a signal even if you had parked inside the radio station... The latest is supposed to be best..
BTW if you send the old module back to TOMTOM saying its knackered they will send out a new version one0 -

Agreed...the new latest version receiver (thats shipping with 720 etc) is far better than the old one for one thing you can get a signal!...although some modded receivers are being refused by tomtom under warranty claimsPhilnicandamy's OH and mum to a two year old god help me!:p
