Hi,

Me and my partner are flying to dublin with ryanair for a few nights soon but when i read down the t+c's it says that no pooling or sharing of luggage allowances are allowed even if in the same travelling group.

Does this mean that instead of us taking 1 suitcase with all of our stuff in we will have to take 2 half full suitcases?

Any help would be really useful,

Yes that is correct, you will need to take a case each if you both need the full luggage allowance

Ryanair charge per piece of luggage.
I think a paid for bag is 15kgs limit but double check that.

Your best bet if at all possible is to avoid checking anything in.
The liquids rule is annoying but I've found that you can still bring everything you need. (Foundation for instance is usually only in a 50ml bottle)
You're allowed 10kg per person on the plane, 1 bag per person only.
(make sure your handbag can fit in the bag)

If you must check something in, then check in one bag weighing less than 15kg between the two of you and holding all your liquids, and then utilise your 20kgs of carry on allowance. The one bag will have to go under one name.

Unless you're planning to move house 35kgs for two people should be loads.

We have aready paid for luggage to go into the hold. We made use of the flight checker and got return flights for 2 for 4p but with luggage it was £8.04 for the both of us there and back. I will ask my gf who booked it all later what the extra £8 covers in terms of luggage. unless anybody here has done the same?

If you have paid £8 it sounds like you have paid for no hold luggage.

£8 would cover the airport check in fee, or if you booked a long time ago, priority boarding.

Rumour has it that Ryanair will soon be intoducing a " Step Charge " this will be for using the steps to get on /off the aircraft.

Remember it is not just Ryanair that charge for all the extras ... x

I have just checked with ryanair, my mistake we paid £14 and a few pence everything in and we are allowed 1 bag in the hold with both of our stuff in. i think its a bit more because we are not checking in online. The no pooling or sharing rule doesnt apply.

The no pooling rule applies to all passengers, however it will not be relevant to you as you have only paid for one bag. Therefore you are only allowed 15kg between the two of you.

£14 would cover one bag and airport check in for one of you. It would appear that online check in had been selected for the second passenger, hence no additional charge (it should be an additional £4), however I imagine (hope!) they would overlook this at the airport as one of you has paid.

iv just spoken to my gf and she says that she paid £18 but ryanair say £14. At least thats what i think he said, i found it hard to understand his mumbling but i got him to repeat everything so i know he cant have been mistaken. As long as we have proof of what we have paid it shouldnt be a problem really ,saying that...... it is ryanair.
