The car I referred to in my previous comment is Nissan. The apps were absolute rubbish anyway, but stopping issuing map updates for the satnav is disgusting.0

Thanks for the thoughts and replies.
I'm unsure what compensation would be adequate, I generally did use the app a lot, now I've no way to keep an eye on the battery health of my expensive van! I'm equally annoyed to be still waiting 3 weeks later for contact, I suspect I won't hear until I contact them again! Maybe I'll look at escalating the complaint, can't hurt.

If it's the battery health you want to see and check, get an OBD reader and app ?0

Did the app stop working, or did it update automatically to a version that doesn't work with your van? Depending on the type of phone you're using it's usually possible to reinstall the old version of an app and prevent it from automatically updating itself. It's worth a try to see if the features you're missing will work on the old version. Take a look at the last update date on your phone for the old app, and go from there. Someone will have the old version available to download. You also might have some luck looking on owners forums, somebody may have already figured out a workaround.0

So a quick update on this!
I called Toyota today to ask for an email for a complaint to somebody higher than I've been dealing with. The guy from the EV complaints team never came back to me even though he said he would. So called up and spoke to a different lady to ask for an email address, her attitude was shocking really, not bothered or even tried to sound interested! Gave my reg, she checked and said nothing had been logged since my last conversation in February.
About half an hour later I get an email from
the original guy who's been dealing with my complaint, he'd put in a link for the old app that had disappeared from the App Store, I was able to log in for the first time since October! Could see all the information, battery health/charge location etc! Hallelujah! So only 30 minutes after I got the email address to complain about the complaints team and seems the problem has been resolved. Fingers crossed it stays accessible! He's also sorted out compensation for the inconvenience and all the chasing I've had to do over the months.
It does appear that the new Toyota app won't work for my model of van, but clearly they've been able to still use the older app, suits me fine, long as I can see and use the functions.
So a good result I'd say for me and other EV van users! Shame it took so many months to sort.4 -
Result.
Better make sure auto updates for apps are turned off. 👍Life in the slow lane2
