Up with the larks to get myself down to Glasgow for 9.00a.m. MOT day. The wind and rain have been howling all night so I hope that it clears up soon, otherwise it'll be a slow drive.Yesterday morning I went up to collect my M&S order and do some light shopping. Then I post off two parcels to my friends down south and, on the spur, decided to have new passport photos taken in the wee booth. Another seamless and smooth process - the new machines take cards / contactless, give great photos and a code to input on the passport website. My passport isn't due for renewal until next year but I wanted to do it earlier rather than later. I've only got to send it off.My new phone arrived in the early afternoon so I spent the rest of the day setting it up, transferring all the data and reactivating banking apps and Wallet. I'm not done yet so the rest will have to wait until probably tomorrow. My old phone is packed up ready to send to a friend's eldest son (who is delighted) - he'll give his to his older sister who is limping along with a very old phone. Happiness all round.Must away - I hope all is good for everyone and that ills improve. Hugs to all.12

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, safe travels to Glasgow, take care as it's pretty wild here too.
Wet and windy this morning, I knew it wouldn't last! Washing can wait until later and I'll put it on the airer overnight by the fire - saves using the TD.
My MOT is due soon so I've ordered new windscreen wipers and called yesterday to get a bulb in the daytime running lights fixed, don't want it to fail on something I can fix. The car is coming up for 10 years old but need it to last a bit longer yet.
Hope everyone is ok and you have a happy Wednesday. Take care. XX13 -

Happy MOT day Gers - fingers crossed it goes ok.I’m off in the campervan in a Lancashire - ish direction. Using the trip to visit two campervan dealers/companies with the most exciting bit being borrowing the van I think I want for a five hours tomorrow. It’ll be great to really look at the detail with loads of time.A couple of days near the coast afterwards to mull over everything. If you didn’t catch Martin a Lewis on TV last night it’s worth a look especially if you’re c45-73 yo in terms of any missed NI contributions and the effect on state pensions (though I think he has again crashed the gov.uk website as it is unavailable at the moment)
Best wishes to all

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Have a safe drive down to Glasgow if the weather is still against you.
I had a rubbish night, but not due to the weather. All is calm and bright here and when I looked out at 6.00 the sky over the moors was the reddest I have ever seen. I tried taking a photo but it didn't do it justice unfortunately. It's bus trip day and, for once, it's going to be a nice sunny day for our little outing. It should be less busy than last time when everywhere was over run with families, being half term.
I collected my substitute BP meds yesterday and the nice regular pharmacist was back so there was no fisticuffs involved! It doesn't cost anything to be civil does it, why can't they all be like her.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Welcome FunkyFairy. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -

Thick fog here and freezing cold I hope it improves a bit later, I have Rob coming today and should be taking him to work but he arrived yesterday covered in a very angry rash which he kept scratching at so I phoned his Dr who had no appointments and told me to ring back this morning so I’m hoping they can fit him in today so I’m not sure yet if we will make work or not it depends on the time they can see him.
My Ocado delivery is due later it’s so nice not to have to do a shop this week, dinner tonight will be summer in winter chicken with rice or pasta. Washing is fairly up to date.
Gers good luck with your MOT mine is tomorrow xx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning all, still fine & dry here so far.Car was frosted up when I took Big dog out.. Safe travels Gers & Allie. Enjoy borrowing a campervan. Nothing much in the way of news, we may pop in to see our friends on the way to school.I want to do a bit of prep/freeze today as DB2/SiL are coming for a meal on Saturday, and all of the dog bedding needs to go in the washer too but I think there's a shepherds piein the freezer we can have for tea.Hope everyone has a happy Wednesday

Morning everyone
It was wild and windy here yesterday and still is today. Little one enjoyed her short time at school and is back again today. I'll hopefully see her later as I'm not working today.
I have a Tesco order coming between now and 10 and then I'll go down to mam and dads for a cuppa and show them how to use his music player. Then I have an appointment for an asthma review.
Yorkslass I get a biggish Tesco order at the beginning of the month with enough of the heavy things to last a month, then I just need top ups of bread and fruit - it works well for me.
I went over to my friends house after work yesterday, we had a good chat.
Right hope everyone has a good day x11 -
Morning all DW is emptied and on again and i will get a wash on later to go on the airer other than that not much happening . Out for dinner tonight as got a voucher for £6 roast at the Toby carvery lime and soda for us both and should make it cheaper than a takeaway at the weekend
Hugs to all who need one and have a good day hope the sun shines on you all xx

Morning! Sunny here [ still cold but who cares!] so ater I drop OH at work I'll head to the allotment. Still got some weaving to do round the bed. My sister was up the weekend, then it was a friends birthday on Monday so I've been busy socialising hence my absence. I also had a fit of chuck-everything-out yesterday so there's another pile for the tip and potentially charity shop. This going ot be an ogoing theme I think. It's all the little bits that never have a home and you just chuck in somewhere that are the most annoying. And I have various crafty things I have to do this month for all the birthdays...Gers, happy belated birthday, sounds liek you had a great time! Allie, enjoy the testing of the motorhome! dp1, well done for figuring out the music thing
TA, glad you got your meds sorted.. Izzy, hope you're tearing it up on holiday
Nanny, hope you've had some peaceful nights. snoozer, hope you're better too...SUe, hope it's nothing serious. Ruby, hope Rob can get in to see a doctor and well done on ignoring the stupid sister...and from now on, never get upset because she has said something. There will always be erseholes, and she's just a prime example....you look after Rob better than they do. I've missed people but it's time to go, so see you tomorrow, take care, poodles, wrap up!
