I have both club lloyds and nationwide flexdirect.
Nationwide not having much benefit as current account after first 12 months. But Nationwide does provide some good interest rate fixed rate bond for existing customer in the past.
Lloyds is my main account as I prefer their app. (Chase for day to day spending)
I hate nationwide card reader...1 -
Do I understand correctly that to be eligible for switch bonus I would have to use current account switch service and it will close my old Barclays account automatically?
Is it possible to get it done manually and keep old account as some banks and lenders would like to see that previous bank account has been maintained properly? Will closure impact credit score at all?0 -

2. No. Just open a new account with Barclays and then switch this new account. Make sure the new account has DDs set up first if this is required by the bonus T&C.1 -
Thank you for your help.0

Lets not forget Nationwide have their (not guaranteed) Fairer Share bonus as well, if you can meet their conditions.1

For me, of those three Nationwide are easily the best choice but none of them are my main account.1

So I decided to get Chase for variety and Santander Edge combo as a mail account.
Chase changing cashback terms next month and Santander suffering big system problems today.
What a great start, lol!0 -
I moved to Nationwide about 3 weeks ago for the switch offer, only the second time in my life I have moved bank, but currently about to switch again to Lloyds. My wife and I cannot stand the 1990s card reader - in the space of 2 weeks it has already left us unable to move money multiple times1

You can remove the need for it in app by registering for biometrics.2
