There are better value tariffs around than intelligent octopus go.MX5huggy said:You don’t want a compliance box ticking EV charger. At best it would be a cheap simple 7kW charge at worst a EV ready 3pin socket. If you have an EV now you want something like a Zappi, Hypervolt or OHME that is compatible with the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff.0 -

I never charge overnight. All my charging is in the daytime on slots given by octopus.
So which are these better value tariffs?
Interested to know if I can save more money 👍Life in the slow lane1 -
We pay 6.7p overnight for 7 hours with EON. Because we also have 18kW of electric space heating to supplement the 70kW oil boiler it saves £300-400 a month in the colder months.I never charge overnight. All my charging is in the daytime on slots given by octopus.

The start of work is also for the first building on the whole site, after which any plot subsequently built within the Bldg Regs registration doesn't have to have a charger installed. There are still a lot of developers who are getting away with not installing them on brand new homes, which is crazy.Mildly_Miffed said:Building Regs Part S, effective June 2022

Does not apply to buildings where full plans were submitted prior to that date, provided work was started by June 2023.
