Hi,
Does SDLT have to be paid through a solicitor at the time of completion or can you opt to pay it yourself (within the 14 days after completion of course!).

If you're buying with a mortgage (which I presume you are given your last thread) then the solicitors will need to do it and have everything ready for the completion day - your lender needs to know there won't be any hitches with registration of your title (and therefore their charge).2
